Sonic AI Fees Explained: What You Actually Keep
This page provides a transparent breakdown of all fees associated with the Sonic AI Gold copy-trading strategy. Understanding the fee structure is essential before participating — fees directly affect your net return. Sonic AI uses a performance-fee model, which means you only pay when the strategy profits.
Fee structure overview
Sonic AI's fee model has three layers:
- Performance fee: A percentage of trading profits, deducted only when the strategy generates gains.
- Spread: The difference between the bid and ask price on XAUUSD, charged by the broker (TAG Markets) on every trade.
- Overnight swap: A fee for holding positions past the daily rollover, charged by the broker.
There are no subscription fees, no setup fees, and no charges when the strategy does not profit.
Performance fee
The performance fee is a percentage of the profits generated by the strategy in your account. If the strategy does not produce a gain in a given period, no performance fee is charged. The exact percentage depends on your account type (standard, 12X, or 24X).
Performance fees are typically calculated on a high-water mark basis, meaning you only pay on new profits — not on recovering previous losses. Always confirm the current fee percentage and calculation method in the COPYX platform or with TAG Markets support before activating your account.
Spread costs
The spread is the difference between the buy (ask) and sell (bid) price of XAUUSD. Every time a trade is opened and closed, the spread is effectively paid to the broker. ECN-style accounts typically offer tighter spreads, which reduces this cost. The spread can widen during periods of high volatility (such as news events), increasing the cost per trade.
Overnight swap fees
If a XAUUSD position is held past the daily rollover (typically 5:00 PM New York time), the broker charges or credits a swap fee. The amount depends on the interest rate differential between gold and the US dollar, and the direction of the trade. Sonic AI's strategy typically holds trades for a short duration, which may limit swap costs, but overnight positions will incur swaps.
What you actually keep: an example
Here is an illustrative example (not a guarantee of future results):
| Line item | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Gross trading profit (monthly) | $1,000 |
| Performance fee (e.g., 30%) | −$300 |
| Spread costs (estimated) | −$50 |
| Swap fees (estimated) | −$20 |
| Net profit (what you keep) | $630 |
This is an illustrative example only. Actual results vary based on account size, trading activity, spread conditions, and the current fee percentage. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
Amplified account fees
Amplified accounts (12X and 24X) do not carry a separate fee — the performance fee structure is the same. However, because position sizes are multiplied, both gross profits and all costs (spread, swap, performance fee) are proportionally larger. See our 24X amplifier guide for details.
How to check the exact fees for your account
